.....many years ago Bernd discovered a passion for the Irish drum, the bodhrán.

In sessions with Irish and German bodhrán players he learned to play the bodhrán in many different styles.

Traditional bands such as the Dubliners, De Dannan and the Battlefield Band as well as more modern groups like Beoga, Flook and Cara have inspired him over the years.

For a number of years now he has been playing in different German-Irish folk bands. He joined the "Larry Mathews Blackstone Band" on a couple of performances before he became a permanent member of the band.

He now also plays the Cajon, a percussion instrument from Cuba as well as other percussive instruments.
